Cloudy islands

The islands Nuageuses are island S French of the Indian Ocean forming small a Archipel in the North-West of the Grande Ground of the islands Kerguelen.

Geography

The unit called Nuageuses islands consists of two island S principal and of some small island S rock like the islands Ternay. It is located at a dozen kilometers at broad of the western northern point of the Péninsule Loranchet.

The two principal islands are the island of Croÿ and the island of the Roland. The first makes approximately four kilometers length on two kilometers broad and has a maximum height of 518  meters. Second has similar dimensions.

History

The Nuageuses islands were discovered during the second forwarding of Yves Joseph de Kerguelen de Trémarec in 1773. They draw their name from frequent the Brouillard attached to their Falaise S.
