Clontarf FC is a club of Rugby Irish based in the town of Dublin, in Irish Republic which evolves/moves in the Irish championship of the first division.
The club is affiliated with the federation of the Leinster and its players can be selected for the team representative of the area, Leinster Rugby.
History
The bull which decorates its blazon returns to the name Gaelic of the district of Dublin where the club plays, Cluan Tairbh , which means “Field of the bull”. The colors red and blue are also associated with the district. The official title is Clontarf Football Club and not Rugby Club because the club was founded before the foundation of the Irish federation of Rugby. The club is allowed among the major clubs in 1902.Between 1999 and 2001, the club is pulled by Alex Wyllie, which led the All Blacks to the victory in World cup in 1987.

Ten players of Clontarf carried the colors of the team of Ireland, until the Sixties. The most famous player of these last years is international South-African the Gary Teichmann.
