Clitoridectomy

The clitoridectomy or excision clitoridienne , more commonly indicated simply by Excision , is the ablation of the Clitoris, therapeutic or generally ritual. The excision often includes/understands the ablation of the Petites lips and sometimes all the external part of the female genital, except for the Grandes lips.

The ritual excision returns within the framework of Sexual mutilation or Female genital mutilation (MGF) according to the official terminology of UNICEF. The new terminology tends to replace expression MGF by female genital wound .
