Clio price for archaeological research

The abroad working Clio Price for archaeological research reward of the French-speaking archaeological missions.

The prizes winner are designated by an independent jury which, around his president Jean Louis Huot, former director of the French Institut of archeology of the Middle East, joins together Francoise Dunand, director of the excavations of El-Deir in the Egyptian oasis of Kharga, Jacques Briend, professor with the Catholic Institut of Paris, Pierre Cabanes, specialist in ancient Albania and Jean Guilaine, professor with the Collège de France, specialist in the Neolithic era and the Bronze Age.

Prizes winner 2007

Prizes winner 2007 are:

  • Laïla Nehmé, for the archaeological mission of Madâ' in Salih (old the Hégra, Al-Hijr of the Koranic text) in Saudi Arabia;
  • Christophe Pottier, in reward of the efforts made during the last years within the framework of the research undertaken by the archaeological mission franco-khmère on town and country planning Angkor IEN - which profited from an important media echo -, and whose last countryside is envisaged in 2008;
  • Christophe Thiers, person in charge of the mission of Erment on the building site of the temple of Montou in Egypt;
  • Yannick Reflected for its multi-field research tasks on the genesis of the cultural landscapes of high mountain in Andorre, combining archeology and paleoecology on the interaction between companies and mediums.

It will be honoured at the time of the tenth birthday with the Prix Clio for archaeological research , Thursday, November 8 with 17:30 with the Carousel of Louvre, within the framework of the Salon of the Cultural heritage.
