Clinchage

The clinchage is a metal technique of assembly Mécanique of Tôle S. The basic principle is to connect two metal sheets by Emboutissage between a punch and a die. The sheet undergoes a plastic deformation locally cold, forming a point of connection. Cold forming is used as technique of assembly.

The clinchage has important advantages:

  • it does not require a matter contribution (contrary to the welding by point for example);
  • it makes it possible to assemble sheets different thicknesses.
