Climbing in room
The climbing in room (or climbing of interior , in English indoor climbing ) is an increasingly popular form of Escalade carried out on artificial structures which try to reproduce the feelings of the climbing on true rock, but in an environment more controlled.
The first walls in room tended to be made up mainly of bricks, leaving little place for interesting ways because the stiffness of the wall and the variety of the catches, at the very least limited.
The method of the most current construction consists in screwing resin catches on wood plates. These plates can be of varied height and stiffness (of " toits" completely horizontal with " dalles" not very vertical) and to carry a large variety of catches (of small the " réglettes" with the grosses " poignées"), with sometimes of the crash landing pads to the feet of the ways (" matelas" used for the practice of the Climbing on block in outside). This variety, with the possibility of changing the provision of the catches on the wall, resulted in returning the climbing in room a sport to success.
The climbing in room is also popular in areas where the climate is often inadequate for the practice in outside. In addition to offering an alternative by bad weather, much from active adults can go to climb in room after their work, even if it makes black outside. In order to progress, as in any sport, a regular practice is crucial. With the advent of the climbing in room, time, seasons, and work hours charged are less and less obstacles for a regular progression and the pleasure of the sport.
This feeling of safety has a counterpart of course: climbing in room can move towards cliffs and realize that it does not have necessary competences in such a context, without points of anchoring and obvious route.
The proliferation of the rooms of climbing improved accessibility, and thus the popularity of the climbing. Since in such a configuration, the environmental conditions (on the integrity structural of surfaces of climbing, the equipment, and the adequate use of this last) can be more controlled, that made of the climbing in room a surer introduction to this sport.
