Clermont the Community
Clermont Communauté is a Communauté of French agglomeration , located in the department of the Puy-de-Dôme and the area Auvergne.
Its natural center is the commune of Clermont-Ferrand, where the head office of the community is.
It took over, in December 1999, of the Communauté of communes created in 1993.
The community is managed by a council of community of 69 members (more 69 substitutes), designated by the respective municipal councils in proportion to the population. The council of community delegates the executive powers to an office of 21 members (a president and 20 vice-presidents) representing each commune.
The council of community is currently chaired by Serge Godard, mayor of Clermont-Ferrand.
Composition
Clermont Communauté groups 21 common :All the communes are administratively attached to the Arrondissement of Clermont-Ferrand, except Châteaugay, which depends on the Arrondissement of Riom.
