Clemessy
Clemessy is a French company specialized in the Ingénierie and the implementation of technical installations near industry. The company is based with Mulhouse and counts: 6400 people on the whole of the France for a Turnover of 700 million euros (2005). It is a subsidiary company of the group Veolia Environnement.
History
- 1900 - Eugene Clemessy, paid SACM (Alsatian Company of Mulhousian Mechanical engineering), transforms during his leisures an old mill close to Brunstatt into powerplant to feed several communes: Brunstatt, Didenheim and Dornach. Having a presentiment of the future of this energy source, it founds 8 years the Clemessy Establishments later.
- 1908 - the beginnings are very modest: a store of sale of minor electrical material (taken, interruptory…) located at Mulhouse, street of Sinne. The electric bulbs replace little by little the oil lamps: three electricians are recruited to intervene on electrical installations at the private individuals.
- 1999 - the Clemessy family puts her shares of the company on sale. The consortium Électricité de France - Cogema-Siemens becomes majority shareholder. In October 2000, RANGE, subsidiary of the Cogema Group, specialized in the plant maintenance as EIS join the Clemessy Group.
- 2001 - the family company, created in 1908 per Eugene Clemessy, yielded the place to an international firm selected to work in all the key sectors of development of planet, in particular the environment and energy sectors, in the wake of its new principal shareholder, Dalkia.
