Clement VIII

Clement VIII (in Latin Clemens VIII , in Italian Lenient VIII ), of his Christian name Ippolito Aldobrandini, born with Fano the February 24th 1536 and deceased in Rome the March 3rd 1605, 229e pope of the January 30th 1592 with the March 3rd 1605.

Last pope of the Counter-Reformation, it is under his Pontificat that will be judged, condemned like Hérétique and burned Giordano Bruno.

He endeavoured to make flower piety and science in the Église, condemned the duels, gave the discharge to the King de France Henri IV during his conversion, brought back a great number of Hérétique S within the Church, and contributed much to the Paix of Vervins (1598).

It would be him which would have made admit the Café in Occident, considered before as " drink sinks of Islam" data by Satan with the Moslems to comfort them to be able to drink wine, crowned drink of Christ. He would have considered on the contrary that " the flavor of the coffee was thing well too pleasant to be the work of Malignant and that it would be a pity that Moslems have the exclusivité".

He raised with the cardinalat César Baronius, Robert Bellarmin, Tolet, Arnaud d' Ossat, Of the Perron, François de Sourdis and several other great men. It is under its pontificate which began the quarrel of the grace, in connection with a work of Luis Molina; but he wanted nothing to decide on the points of contention. He had conceived, in.liaison.with Henri IV, the project of an alliance of all the Christian powers against the Turks.
