Claudio Scajola

Claudio Scajola (born the January 15th 1948 with Imperia in the province of the same name, in Ligurie) is a Politician Italy N, of Forza Italia.

Biography

Claudio Scajola became the April 23rd 2005, Minister for the productive Activities (in France, one would say Industry).

Previously, he was minister without portfolio in charge of the Implementation of the governmental program.

He was Minister of Interior Department during the G8 of Genoa.

At 34 years, he was mayor Christian-Democrat of Imperia (called Napoleon because of its small size and its authoritarianism).

Baccalaureat traditional letters in 1972, it manages INADEL (currently INPDAP) with Imperia then in 1975, it becomes president of the regional Hospital of Costarainera and of 1980 with 1983, he becomes president of the Case of health insurance n° 82 (USL) of Imperia. Become mayor of Imperia, it is almost immediately obliged to resign because touched by a scandal of bribe for the market of the casino of Sanremo (it was even briefly stopped). In 1990, it is bleached and it is re-elected mayor. In 1996, it is submitted to the Parliament in the list of the Pole of freedoms and becomes Député. Silvio Berlusconi entrusts to him the national responsibility for the movement of Forza Italia, while asking him to transform the existing clubs into a solid political party, with statutes and payments like the other Italian and European parties.

In 1997, Scajola presents the statute of the new party and the April 16th 1998 meets in Milan, Ier Congrès of Forza Italia

Named national coordinator of Forza Italia, the May 13rd 2001 it is re-elected appointed (in several districts, which makes lose seats with its party) and it is then named on June 10th, 2001, Minister of Interior Department.

Its greater task is the meeting of the G8 to Genoa. The security measures, impressive, make it possible to isolate the zone from the top of the Eight. On the other hand, the remainder of the city is put at fire and blood by the demonstrators. A young person is killed, of the hundreds of wounded and of put in examinations. Italian justice put in examination the majority of the chiefs of safety, including Scajola for a muscular descent in the seat of Genoa Global Forum, whereas the top was finished. The minister shows complicity between the pacifist ones and the fringes violent.

He became the national coordinator (responsible in particular for the elections) of Silvio Berlusconi.
