Claude Vignon
Claude Vignon , born with Tours the May 19th 1593 and died in Paris the May 10th 1670 is a painter, engraver and illustrator French.
It was with his friend Simon Vouet one of the French painters most famous of the time of Louis XIII. Credit as of its return of Italy and Spain in 1623, its style rich with strong pastings east impresses invaluable poetry and characterizes the taste still maniérisant which it prolongs at this beginning of century. Its characters evoke those of pastoral and love stories to success such as Astrée of Honore d' Urfé. The influence of the Caravage is definitely identifiable in its work, especially at the beginning of its career which follows little its return of Italy. Its works are present in the largest museums of the world, in the churches and the French and foreign private collections.
