Claude Vanony

Claude Vanony , born the 1935 with Gérardmer, is a Conte ur and humorist French.

Biography

Wire of craftsman, Claude Vanony works as of 14 years on the building sites of his father. He projects to enter in the firemen of Paris but, with the return of 27 months a military service to Morocco, chooses to settle in his the native Vosges. He benefits from the passion increased for the holidays with the mountain and becomes in 1962 professor in a Jeunesse center and Sports: the winter, he teaches the ski and the summer the sail, the canoe and the climbing at the base of outdoor of Gérardmer.

In parallel, he plays in a theater company amateur then integrates the local folk group of Ménestrels. Its short stories, told with a caricatural Vosgean accent, are then voted by plebiscite by the local public and the tourists, pushing it to record a first 45 turns as of 1964.

It forges its character of scene then: felt hat, white blouse, undershirt of cow, wood shoe and immense pants of large velvet supported by straps, caricatures immutable of the Vosgean peasant, with the image of the quinquagénaires which it could observe in his youth.

Its fame extends to the close areas: he is requested for many representations where its good mood and its simplicity conquer easily small and large. He is also the American curtain raiser of many official receptions, even in Paris. In 1988, it receives the price Fernand Raynaud, but there remains been sulky by the media which reproach him for even yielding to the facility with the commonplace. It passes however by high-speed motorboat to the Olympia on January 26th 2003 and on November 14th 2004 for a recital of twice an hour.

Works

The stories of Claude Vanony often have as a framework the High Vosges of first half of the 20th century. The characters - picturesque - are the peasants and the loggers local, touching as well by their good sense as by theirs through. Their wives are also very present, sometimes as guardians of morals, sometimes as light women. Other tales fustigate the evolutions of the modern life, by proposing a shifted vision where the approximations of vocabulary are added to comic situations. The whole is known as on scene with a strong decorated Vosgean accent of some words of very local use - as the interjection Môhn! omnipresent - or of patois, but always easy to translate.
