Claude Ursule Gency
Claude-Ursule Gency (June 13rd 1765 with Meulan (Seine-et-Oise) - January 6th 1845) was a Général French of the Révolution and Empire.
Biography
It entered the 15th regiment of infantry, above Béarn, the February 11th 1783.Corporal the August 15th 1785, it was congédié the February 21st 1788, and took again service on January 1st 1791.
Captain of the company of the hunters of Meulan, company which was the core of the 9th battalion of Seine-et-Oise, it took of it the command in the capacity as major the September 16th 1792.

Wounded to the arm in front of Châlons, it was subjected to the Bourbon S, and had Louis XVIII the command of the Département of the Eure, with the Croix of Saint-Louis the August 24th 1814.
honorary Lieutenant-general the February 8th 1825, Napoleon i, on his return of the isle of Elba, maintained it in the command of the department of the Eure the March 31st.
With the Second Restoration, Louis XVIII named it titular lieutenant-general on July 1st. Placé in non-activity the December 8th 1815, and of availability on April 1st 1820, it was allowed with the retirement by ordinance of September 1st 1824, starting from January 1st 1825; and the February 15th obtained according to a pension of 6.000 francs. Responsible for an extraordinary general inspection the August 8th 1830, put of availability on November 1st, included/understood within the framework of reserve the February 7th 1831; passed within the framework of activity, available the March 20th of this last year, it was definitively reprocessed in accordance with the ordinance of the April 5th, on March 1st 1832.
It was named the May 8th 1835 Grand Cross of the Legion of honor. Its name is reproduced on the Triumphal arch of the Star.
