Claude Taittinger

Claude Simon Pierre Marie Taittinger , born the October 2nd 1929 in Paris, is a French business man, a long time directing Champagne Taittinger. It is one of wire of Pierre Taittinger.

After having finished its studies with the Faculty of Law and the Institute of political studies of Paris from which it is graduate, Claude Taittinger between in February 1949, at the 22 years age, in the family country cottage. It will consequently continue there its career with however two interruptions, one which will bring it in Indo-China as war correspondent in 1954, and the other which will make it be useful in Algeria in 1956.

He marries, in 1958, Catherine de Suarez d' Aulan, girl of the marquis Jean de Suarez d' Aulan, known as Jean d' Aulan and of Yolande Kunkelmann. Catherine Taittinger is today president of the protective Company of childhood, officer of the national order of the Merit. They had three girls.

Become managing director following the accidental death of his François brother in 1960, he exerted since the responsibilities for management of the Taittinger Champagne of which he became the general president-director in 1969 as well as the presidency of the Taittinger group - Société of Louvre (Concorde hotels, Envergure hotels, crystal manufactures Baccarat, perfumes Annick Goutal). He also belonged to the advisory counsel of the Banque de France.
