Claude Serre

Claude Serre , born the November 10th 1938 with Sucy-in-Brie and deceased the November 13rd 1998, is a cartoonist French. It practiced with talent black humor. Tighten received the price of black humor, the price of white humor and the price of the political drawing. Engraver with the Library of France, it carried out many Vitraux inter alia that of the cupola of the cathedral of Washington for the account of max Ingrand (main glassmaker).

Draftsman of press, it collaborates in particular with Plexus , Planet , Hara-kiri , Him and Pariscope , but also publishes less known drawings in professional reviews like the electric Life (internal bulletin of EDF).

Glénat published albums sets of themes (the car, the sport, etc) of small size between 1981 and 1999 and republishes since 2000 these albums in large size. It was chooses by Francis Blanche to illustrate one of its books; but also by Frederic Dart for the San Antonio .

Serre was a world success and its albums are published of 14 languages (even in Mandarin), even if the majority of its drawings do not require really a legend.
