Claude Seignolle

Claude Seignolle , born the June 25th 1917 with Périgueux, is a writer French which started by collecting the legendary inheritance of the French areas, before developing a very personal literary work.

Biography

Youths

Born with Périgueux in 1917, its childhood is held in the countryside where its principal occupation is to collect and collect all that seems to him worthy of interest: stones and flints, but especially fossil and old currencies. It is also very attentive with the tales and legends which his/her grandmother tells him, from where its taste for the mysteries of the night and all the kinds of mischiefs. At the twelve years age, its family moves with Châtenay-Malabry. It is provided education for with the Lakanal college with Sceaux, where its professor of history encourages it in his archaeological vocation . It is returned of this college for absenteeism and scorns work in the family company. Thereafter, he attends the French prehistoric Company of which one of the speakers is the abbot Henri Breuil and where he makes the meeting of famous the folklorist Arnold Van Gennep. Determining meeting, which will make it pass from the mineralogical inheritance to that of the folklore and the legendary one. With his Jacques brother, it will furrow the Hurepoix during two years and will be made collecting rural traditions, being interested in the rites of the festivals, the superstitions, etc In 1937, it Co-sign with his brother the Folklore of Hurepoix , delivers well accommodated, in particular by Pierre Mac Orlan and Blaise Cendrars. This first work will be followed many others devoted to the popular culture, but also of a more personal literary work. In 1945, appears its first novel: the Round of the wizards .
