Claude Poirier (Quebec)

Claude Poirier (October 26th 1938 -) is a Négociateur at the time of taken hostages and Enlèvement S, as well as a legal chronicler Québécois. He is undoubtedly most known in Quebec in these fields.

Biography

Its career as legal chronicler began by making the description of a flight of bank, on August 11th, 1960. Liking its work so much, it continued for six months without receiving wages.

By afterwards, it covered the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, its brother Robert and Martin Luther King. In Quebec, it made the chronicle of the removal of the Québécois minister Pierre Laporte by FLQ. Its fame encouraged felquists to reveal the place to him where the corpse of the minister was.

Recognized like a keen worker driving out the news without deforming it, it took part in different boards of inquiry, roundtables and criminal Procès as an expert and witness.

Parallel to all these activities, it was implied like negotiator in various taking of hostages and removals in Quebec. It also negotiated in the name of various criminals who went to the police force.

With the 21e century, he rare that he is, in large businesses, is not claimed by required criminals.

For a few years, it has delivered its comments on criminal cases to the 98,5 FM and CKOI-FM 96,9, two radio stations montréalaises. Each morning, on LCN, it animates the True Negotiator , one hour daily program when it comments on the hot subjects and discusses with guests who make the topicality.

It also delivers its comments to the bulletin of news VAT 17 hours animated by Pierre Bruneau, like with the Salut emission Hello, also of the Groupe VAT.

Its experiments were used as material to create the Negotiator , Feuilleton televised Québécois inspired by its career. Only the legal events which are found in the series are real, the remainder being fiction or “candy pink-nanane”, as would say Poirier. The first season was diffused at the winter 2005, the second with the autumn 2006 and the third will be it at the winter 2008.

In August 2007, after the mysterious disappearance of small the Cédrika Provencher, his/her parents called upon the services of Claude in order to incite people who would have information on the disappearance of small to communicate with him. A number of cellular to join Claude was even placed at the disposal of the public.

Rewards

To underline its talents of negotiator, the Government of Canada gave the medal of bravery to him in 1977, whereas the Government of Quebec gave five quotations of honor to him.
