Claude Perrault , born the September 25th 1613 with Paris where he died the October 9th 1688, is a Médecin and Architecte French.
Claude Perrault is famous to have been the architect of the frontage of the wing is Louvre. He is also recognized for his work in Anatomie, Physique and Natural history. His/her brother is the writer Charles Perrault (1628-1703).
He dies of an infection in 1688, after having dissected a Chameau with the Botanical garden.
Scientific work
He obtains his title of doctor in Médecine in Paris. He is one of the first members of the royal Académie of sciences in 1666.He makes many observations on the anatomy of the animals. He studies the circulation of the Sève and notes that it circulates in two directions, ascending and descendant. But, like other scientists of its time, it tries to discover a cellular operation similar to that of the animals. Its ideas are fought by Denis Dodart (1634-1707) and Samuel Cottereau of the Closed (v. 1598-1685).
Structure
It translates into French the texts of the Roman architect Vitruve under the title of Ten books of architecture of Vitruve in 1673.Perrault constructs the frontage is colonnade of Louvre, implemented by Louis Vau, between 1667 and 1670, as well as portions of the southern frontage. It draws the Observatoire of Paris between 1667 and 1672. It builds the Triumphal arch of the Faubourg Saint-Anthony in 1670.
