Claude Meillassoux is a anthropologist French born on December 26th, 1925 and dead on January 2nd, 2005.
He is the author of many articles in the reviews Cahiers of African studies , the Man and the company , the Man , Économie and Sociétés , Journal of the Company of the Africanists , Anthropologie and Sociétés or the Ethnography .
Claude Meillassoux studied much the economic systems of the companies pre-capitalists by using the Marxist concepts of Infrastructure, Superstructure or historical Matérialisme. He has as a conviction that the mechanisms of domination and exchange are present in any human society.
He falls under the movement of the Anthropologie of the release far from the dominant thoughts functionalist and structuralist in anthropology in second half of the 20th century.
