Claude Lanzmann

Biography

Born in Paris from a father decorator and a mother antique dealer. His/her large parents are Jewish immigrants of Eastern Europe. They fled persecutions, misery. During the First World War they live in Paris and are designated as German. Claude Lanzmann sees the rise of the anti-semitism, with the Condorcet college. In 1940, his/her father, resistant, takes it along, with his Jacques younger brother (the lyric writer of Jacques Dutronc) and his sister Evelyne (Evelyne Rey, actress of theater), in Auvergne in a house where it involves them to disappear without leaving of trace, by simulating raids. Directing of Modern times , re-examined rested by Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir. Until 1970, Claude Lanzmann shared his activities between Modern times and journalism. He wrote many articles and reports. He directs the review since the death of Simone de Beauvoir in 1986.

In the daily newspaper Release of the 6 March 2007, Claude Lanzmann “shows Raymond Barre to be anti-semite. ”, following an interview which it granted to France Culture, the 20 February 2007, diffused the 6 March 2007. Raymond Barre answered these critics the same day, on RTL: “There is one clicks which since 1979 continues me to reveal me anti-semite. ”
