Claude Krief
Born in Algeria in 1927, Claude Krief follows studies of philosophy and designs its entry with the Express train like a “journalistic bracket” in its preparation of the aggregation of philosophy. Integrating the service of Jean Daniel by the means of Robert Barrat, it covers the North Africa and particularly Algeria where it has many friends among those which aspire to laic Algeria, multiracial and revolutionary. Professors Marcel Domerc and Andre Mandouze, the Mallard painters and of Maisonseul, the novelist Kateb Yacine or the poet Jean Sénac form part with Jean Daniel of it.
But, excluding at the same time sectarianism and kindness, it is diverted Algerian revolution when it betrays its original promises. Refusing to belong to its “unconditional follower”, it ceases any article on the question. In the same way, whereas it has as friends “all the young Algerian revolutionists” arrived at the capacity, it sees in the indulgence which brings “to accept anything of a friend because it was Arab” a “kind of racism with wrong way”.
According to his friend Jean Daniel in Nouvel Observateur, it takes semi-officially charges the service " with it; Evènement" , which gathers the political heading, economic and international.
At the time of the presidential campaign of 1965, it is one of only of the drafting to defend the opening towards the center incarnated by the candidature Defferre against alliance with the PCF constant in particular by Michel Bosquet.
He dies in 1969.
