Claude Guéant
Claude Guéant is a senior official French, born the January 17th 1945 with Vimy in the Pas-de-Calais. Since the May 16th 2007 it is the general secretary of the Elysium.
Biography
After studies with the Faculty of Law in Paris and the Institute of political studies of Paris, it enters to the National school of administration (promotion Thomas More (1971)). At its exit, he becomes principal private secretary of the prefect of the Finistere, then general secretary for the economic affairs of the Guadeloupe (1974), before being named adviser technical with the cabinet of Christian Bonnet, Minister of Interior Department (1977-1981).Appointed sub-prefect except class, he works near the prefect of the Région Centers, then is general secretary of the prefecture of l´ Herault, then Hauts-de-Seine, before being appointed prefect of the Hautes-Alpes in 1991.
Charles Pasqua calls it at her sides with the ministry for the interior and town and country planning, like director-assistant of cabinet, then managing director of the national police force in 1994 appoints it.
It is then named prefect of the area Franche-Comté and the Doubs in 1998, and prefect of the area Brittany, the zone of Western defense, and Ille-et-Vilaine in 2000.
It becomes the Principal private secretary of Nicolas Sarkozy, 2002 with 2004 then of June 2005 to March 2007 with the ministry for the Interior and in 2004 with the Ministry for Finances. It is, at the time of presidential in 2007 campaign director of Nicolas Sarkozy.
Once elected, this last names it, the May 16th 2007, general secretary of the Elysium.
Claude Guéant is knight of the Légion of honor. He is married and father of two children, of which a son, Francois, lawyer fiscalist, temporary of the deputy of the 4th district of Morbihan since June 2007, president of the Young Credits of the UMP and member since July 2007 of the cabinet of the Minister for Justice, as an operations manager for the victims.
He has as nicknames the cardinal or the viceroy.
