Claude François Lazowski

Claude François Lazowski (1752 - 1793) was civil servant under the Old Mode.

Its wire position of gentleman, Stanislas Leczinski, is not foreign there. But, it does not seem to have shone in this employment, this is why it adopted the revolutionary cause.

Extremely elegant and conceited, he was captain of the gunners of Marcel Saint; born leader, it could show the example and involve the men in brilliant actions.

June 16th, 1792, Claude François Lazowski, then member of the general advice of the Commune, and nine citizens were selected to make known the project of the two suburbs (Faubourg Saint-Anthony and Holy Faubourg Marceau) to present petitions to the Parliament and to the King. The council refused the authorization.

As of on July 26th, 1792, in the cabaret Sun of Gold , with Charles-Alexis Alexandre, Antoine Joseph Santerre, François-Joseph Westermann, Claude Fournier, it took part in several meetings of the directory of insurrection which prepared the catch of attack of the castle of Tileries, the August 10th, 1792.

Maximilien de Robespierre appreciated much this man who was an example for the other rioters at the time of the Journée of August 10th, 1792.

In 1793, Claude François Lazowski, hero of the Saint-Marceau Suburb, joint with the nucleus of revolt which meets in the " Evêché".

The noise ran that he died victim of a poisoning. But it was also claimed that its drink excesses were the cause of its death.
