Claude François Beaulieu
Claude François Beaulieu is a Journaliste French born with Riom in 1754 and died with Marly-the-King the September 26th 1827.
Under the Revolution
At the beginning of the Revolution, Claude François Beaulieu becomes journalist, collaborator with the newspaper the News of Versailles , editor association with the newspaper of the Suite of the News of Versailles , then Nouvelles of Paris .Writer in several newspapers, the constitutional monarchy finds in him a talented defender.
Under the Terreur freedom of the press ends, it is arrested and imprisoned with the Conciergerie then with the Prison of Luxembourg. The fall of Maximilien de Robespierre saves its head. After the Thermidor 9 An II (July 27th 1794) it can again exert its journalistic profession. In 1795, it writes Mémoire addressed to the Nation for Marie-Therese-Charlotte of Bourbon, girl of Louis XVI which gains a certain success.
Founder of the royalist newspaper the Mirror on May 1st 1796. After the Coup d'etat of the 18 fructidor year V (September 4th 1797), he escapes the deportation while hiding.
Under the Consulate and the first Empire
Under the Consulat he writes one of the first stories relating to the French revolution, the historical Essais on the causes and the effects of the Revolution of France . Under the Empire, he is the secretary of the prefect of the Oise.
Under the Restoration
Collaborator with the religious Memorial and the premère publication of the Biography of Michaud.
