Claude Cheysson

Claude Cheysson , born the April 13rd 1920 with Paris, is a senior official and a Politician French.

Studies

Studies with the college Stanislas in Paris, with the Polytechnic school, and the National school of administration (1946-1948).

Second world war

He escapes from France and joined the the 2nd division armor-plated where he will be used like Sous-lieutenant with the 12th regiment of hunters as Africa.

  • 1973-1981: European Commissioner in charge of the relations with the countries in the process of development,
  • 1981 with 1984: Minister for the Foreign relations, in four successive governments:
  • 1985-1988: European Commissioner in charge with the Mediterranean policy and the North-South relations,
  • 1989-1995: European deputy (list Majority of progress for Europe).

  • Former president of the Foundation Arch of fraternity (International foundation of the human rights),
  • At the origin of the International organization of the francophonie
