Claude Fournier says Baker-The Heir , born the December 21st 1745 with Auzon (Haute-Loire) and died in 1825), is a personality of the French revolution.

Wire of Tisserand, it went to seek fortune, towards the fifteen years age, with the colonies and spent 21 years to Saint-Domingue. It was useful during 16 years in the dragons of the middle-class militia then became owner of guildive (or guildivery), manufactures Tafia (impure molasses rum). It several had then démélés with justice because of surging relationships to its vicinity and the alleged ill-treatment of its Esclave s.
It would seem that he was rather victim of abuse of authority and from denial of justice puiqu' he obtained in 1786, in metropolis, a fixed allowance of five hundred ecus which was not versed for him.

When the Révolution bursts, dissatisfaction and enthusiasm lead it to organize an armed revolutionary troop and it is found thus among the main actors of the days of the 5 and October 6th 1789 (fine of the general states, revolutionary days with Paris and installation of the king to the Tuileries), of the July 17th 1791 (massacre of the Champ de Mars to Paris), of the June 20th 1792 (attack of the Tuileries where resides Louis XVI) and of the August 10th 1792 (taken Tileries and commne insurrectionary of Paris).

The September 9th 1792, it is charged to escort prisoners of Orleans to Versailles who are made massacre at the entry in the city. Its role in this wild slaughter was somewhat ambiguity and it was suspected of having taken part in carnage. It seems proven that the prisoners had been separated from their escort by crowd, and Baker was not at their sides when they périrent.
It was suspected of having informed members of the inspection committee of its passage this day. The committee would have dispatched one clicks stickers on the spot. It seems that Danton itself was informed in advance, by Alquier, of the fixed price which prepared. Danton, friend of Baker, closed the eyes. The presence on the spot of Alquier and Richaud abounds in this direction. At the very least, even if it did not take part in the massacre, Fournier doubtless deviated or let draw aside from the scène.
He was also suspected of the flight of the luggage of the prisonniers.

Because of the unwavering support which ensured to him the Minister of Interior Department Jean-Marie Roland, it entered in open conflict with Marat which showed it to have taken part in the fallen through insurrection of the March 10th 1793. The death of this last, the July 13rd of the same year, released it from this charge.
