Classification of the Library of the Congress
The classification of the Library of the Congress (in English Library off Congress Classification or LCC ) is a Classification developed and used by the Bibliothèque of the Congress. It is also used by several Bibliothèque S academics with the the United States and in the world.
Organization
The LCC is organized in classes, identified each one by a letter.Each categogy can be specified by one or two additional letters, then by a series of figures. For example:
- C: Auxiliary sciences of the history
- CJ: Numismatics
- CJ 1-4625: Coins

- Z: Bibliography, Information sciences and the libraries
Letters I, O, W, X and Y are not used.
