Clarksdale
Clarksdale, city principal of the county of Coahoma (the Mississippi), was founded by John Clark in 1848. It is a town of approximately 20.000 inhabitants, crossed by the river Sunflower, and cut into two by a way of railroad. On a side, one finds a district primarily with white population, and other, a black district (where are principal the Juke-joints of the city).
Elle is also with cross roads 49 and 61, from where the song Crossroads .
Clarksdale was a true seedbed of musicians; it is indeed the birthplace of Junior Parker, Bukka White, Her House, John Lee Hooker, Earl Hooker, Jackie Brenston, Ike Turner, Eddie Boyd, Sam Cooke, Willie Brown and Johnny B. Moore.

- Among the most active musicians on Clarksdale, let us quote: Charley Patton, Big Jack Johnson, John Weston, Sam Carr, James Johnson, Robert Walker. The legend tells that it is there that Robert Johnson would have sold her heart with the devil.
