William Clark Gable (1901 - November 16th 1960) is a American Acteur, and the largest high-speed motorboat with the boxoffice of the beginning of the talking films.
Biography
It is born with Cadiz (Ohio). His/her mother dies when it has only seven months. It leaves the college at the 16 years age to start to work in a factory. After having seen a part which it likes, it decides to become actor. It starts to turn with modest companies of theater, also working like commercial and also in industry.In 1924, it goes to Hollywood with the financial aid of the director of theater Josephine Dillon, ten years its elder, which deviend its manager and his first wife. He plays of the supporting roles and turns over to the theater, until in 1930 where he signs finally a contract with MGM. During the years which follow, it makes appearances noticed in several films and quickly becomes a superstar, gaining the nickname of “king d' Hollywood”. Gable gains the Oscar better actor in 1934 for its interpretation in the film New York-Miami . Follows another nomination for its incarnation of Fletcher Christian in Revolted of Bounty (1935). But there remains especially famous for the role of Rhett Butler in traditional the Gone With The Wind , left in 1939. It is one of the rare actors to have played in three films having obtained a Oscar of best film.
Its marriage in 1939 with his third wife, the actress Carole Lombard, is the happiest episode of its personal life, but it finishes tragically in 1942, when this one dies in an air crash. It deeply affected and is joined of it the air force. Its first film with the return of the Second world war is Adventure , which does not meet success, and the MGM does not renew its contract, by considering its too high wages. During the ten following years, it continues to play, but without finding its prewar glory.
It remaria still twice after the death of Carole Lombard: first of all with the British Sylvia Stanley Lady, widow of Douglas Fairbanks, then Kathleen Williams, old a signal-model already married three times. The latter is the mother of her posthumous son, and her single legitimate child, born in 1961.
The last cinematographic appearance of Gable goes back to 1960 in Excentric the , at the side of Marilyn Monroe, for which this film will be also the last. He died the same year of a Heart attack with Los Angeles, 59 years old. He is buried with the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Glendale in California, close to his former wife Carole Lombard.
The American Film Institute classified it seventh actor of legend.
