Clare Torry

Clare Torry is a known British singer for her vocal work on the song of Pink Floyd The Great Gig in the Sky published in 1973 on the album The Dark Side off the Moon .

Clare Torry also worked as singer studio and chorus-singer in concerts with Olivia Newton-John, The Alan Parsons Projet (for which it also made the principal song on a song), Gary Booker, Culture Club, Meat Loaf and Johnny Mercer. It took again during one short period its role within Pink Floyd, in the years 1980, and also contributed to the album of Roger Waters Radio K.A.O.S , published in 1987. She also sang with the guitarist and singer of Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, in a concert of the years 1990 given to Knebworth. Clare Torry sang Love is like has butterfly Dolly Parton for the credits of the sitcom of Wendy Craig and Geoffrey Parlmer Butterflies , in the years 1970.

In 2004, it prosecuted Pink Floyd and EMI for not perceived royalties, based on its contribution to The Great Gig in the Sky which would constitute rights of joint authors, with Richard Wright.

In the beginning, it had been paid £30 for its work of studio Sunday. In 2005, however, an amicable settlement was found at the High Court of justice of England and the Wales in favor of Torry, although the limits were not fixed. It is probable that the future editions of The Dark Side off the Moon will see the name of Torry in the appropriations, just beside that of Richard Wright, for his participation in the creation of The Great Gig in the Sky . The live DVD P*U*L*S*E , left in 2006, watch, as for him, the credit Wright/Vocal composition by Clare Torry for the part The Great Gig in the Sky .
