Clara Wieck-Schumann is a German Pianiste and Compositrice , born with Leipzig the September 13rd 1819 and dead the May 20th 1896 with Francfort-sur-le-Main.
Biography
His/her father is not other than pedagog of the Piano Friedrich Wieck celebrates it which made of it a concert performer wonder as of the nine years age. In 1827, it meets her engaged couple, Robert Schumann (it is eight years old, he has seventeen of them), which will come to study near his/her father. Clara gives its first concert to the Gewandhaus of Leipzig, where she is noticed by Goethe. In round with Paris, she knows a triumph. In 1829, Clara publishes its first Polish works, Four . In 1832, Robert publishes the Butterflies ; Clara will even play this piece in concert the year. Between 1834 and 1836, it composes the Musical evenings , which are a great success in particular near Liszt.
When it éprend of Robert Schumann, it is sixteen years old. Robert requests his hand from his father when the young girl reaches her eighteenth year. Wieck is opposed vigorously to their marriage. In love ones are separated from force, but communicate by the means of friends and musical messages in the concerts of Clara. The marriage is however celebrated in 1840 with Schönefeld by decree of the court of justice. Eight children come from their union, which tends to seriously slow down the musical course of Clara.
First interpreter of works of her husband, it makes known and to appreciate his music, of which it was the only one with including/understanding delicacies well according to him. Clara is itself the author of forty works, but she partly neglected the compositrice with the profit of the inspirer and the pianist.
In 1854, Robert Schumann is interned. Widow as of 1856, Clara becomes the friend, the adviser and the inspirer of Johannes Brahms but she affirms from now on that its only moments of happiness are those where she plays or listens to the music of sound expensive disappeared. Clara launches out to body lost in rounds in England, France, Russia… until 1891, date in its last concert. She in addition teaches the piano with the Academy of Frankfurt of 1878 to 1892. From 1881 to 1893, it establishes a complete edition of work of her husband, of which it will not have of cease to defend work. It is precisely by listening to its grandson, Ferdinand, to interpret a work of its famous grandfather whom it dies out on May 20th 1896, having endured towards the end of its life of the problems of deafness.
It belongs to the rare women compositrices of reputation at the 19th century, with Fanny Mendelssohn, Louise Farrenc and Cécile Chaminade.
