the Clan of the Dragon is a clan of the kingdom Rokugan in the Roleplay the Book of the five rings.

One knows few things with certainty in connection with the clan of the Dragon. It was founded, a thousand of years ago of that, by Togashi, the son of the Sun and the Moon who refused to take part in the tournament having to determine which was going to direct the world. His/her Hida brother saw in this refusal an act of cowardice, but Hantei, in its wisdom, understood that Togashi did not want to take part in a tournament of which it knew already that it would not gain it. Togashi was withdrawn then in the mountains and founded a monastery where it remained years during. It is only when three Samurais, Mirumoto, Kitsuki and Agasha, joined it in its temple which the clan of the Dragon was really founded. All that one knows since of the clan of the Dragon is only speculation.

According to certain rumors, this clan would count several secret orders. One easily recognizes the members of the one of them, Ise zumi, which are tattooed on all the body of the complex reasons, the symbols and the images. But if this practice is known, little know the reasons of them. The accounts which depict of Ise zumi leaping above horses, spitting of fire or the poison and change form at will are as numerous as diverting. The shugenja of this clan are not less mysterious: they resort to capacities of which no other shugenja can explain the origin and yet the shugenja other clans draw from their exchanges with those of the Dragon the conclusion that they do not include/understand the basic principles of the magic. This clan and his members permanently seem to escape any definition.

This clan was also the first to teach the " technique of the two swords " : the effectiveness of the technique of combat katana/wakizashi of the Samurais of the Dragon is famous besides. And if the pupils of the Kakita school make fun about it, it is more to preserve the honor of their school that by true lack of respect for this technique. Of all the Samurais, one considers that it is those of the clan of the Dragon which most accurately respect the principles of the religion of Rokugan. It is literally, of the " poet-warriors " , controlling subtleties of the feather like that of the saber.
