Clairville (actor)

Honore of Pontevès - Bargème , count of Tournon, known as Clairville , is a Acteur French born with Lorgues the July 24th 1748.

Wire of a Consul of Aix-en-Provence, Clairville begins a career of officer of the Marine at twenty years, but it abondonne quickly with the profit of the Théâtre: it belongs to a troop of actors established with Toulon in 1770, where it marries a girl of actors, Pink Corbin, later M {{me}} Clairville. The couple goes to Namur the following year.

It passes then to Maastricht, where it directs the theater of 1774 to 1780, with some concomitant interruptions and some other loads: he is at the same time director of the troop of Antwerp of 1772 with 1775, of that of Bréda of 1773 with 1776, of that of Namur of 1775 with 1776, of that of Ghent of 1777 with 1779 and of that of Aachen during one short period.

The marriage of 1770 being invalidated, Clairville and Pink Corbin marry one second time at Maastricht the November 13rd 1779, in the presence of the younger brother of the husband and the parents of the wife.

“Directing of the spectacles of S.A.S. the prince de Nassau”, made Clairville of Maastricht, town of Garrison, one of the first theatrical scenes of the Netherlands.

Martin-Jules de Pontevès (born in Lorgues the October 27th 1750) plays in the troop of his brother under the name of Clairville junior and, in 1779 - 1780, Fabre d' Églantine in fact also part.

Sifted debts, Clairville flees of Maastricht in 1780 and takes refuge with Liege, where it obtains the direction of the theater, but remains only one season there, then disappears again. His wife, without news of him, continues to play Maastricht, then with Brussels (1783-1785) and with Amsterdam (1785-1787).

Finally localized with Bayonne, it appears that Clairville there remarié and took again service in the Marine. It leaves then definitively the France to go to the Orleans News, where it plays in 1798 more.
