Clairefontaine-in-Yvelines is a common department of the Yvelines, in the area Île-de-France, in France, located at 7 km to the south-east of Rambouillet.

Geography
Vast commune almost entirely timbered, Clairefontaine-in-Yvelines east integral part of the Forest of Rambouillet. It is included in the perimeter of the Regional natural park of the high valley of Chevreuse and belonged to the Communauté of communes of the plains and forests of Yveline.It is bordering on That-the-Border It in the North-East, of Bullion in the east, Saint-Arnoult-in-Yvelines in south-east, Sonchamp in the west, Rambouillet in the North-West and Old woman-Church-in-Yvelines in north.
The commune is sprinkled by Rabette, tributary of Rémarde.
History
The name of “Clairefontaine” comes from the Latin , will clara fontana in reference to the sources of limpid water of the valley of Rabette.-
Seat of two Abbey S at the 12th century: Saint-Rémy-of-moors and Our-Lady-of-Clairefontaine.
