Otto de Habsbourg (last heir to the Austro-Hungarian Empire) gives up the throne in 1967 to return to Austria, and refuses to become president of the Hungarian Republic in the Nineties. In spite of his act of renunciation, the monarchist autro-Hungarian and the royal families recognize it like the head of the household of Habsbourg.
