Cladistiens
The group of the Cladistiens gathers the polyptères, of osseous fish with fleshy pectoral fins and provided with lungs. Their systematic position was discussed a long time. Sometimes placed within the Sarcoptérygiens, sometimes within Crossoptérygiens or forming a group with share, Brachyoptérygiens, they are now interpreted as being a line which separated precociously from the Actinoptérygien S.
They currently form a relic group which counts today only one ten species like bichir it ( Polypterus to bichir ) or the fish reed ( Erpetoichthyis calabaricus ). Morphologiquement, these are very lengthened fish whose dorsal fin has the effect of being divided into independent rays.
Like the Dipneuste S (of truths Sarcoptérygiens), they represent an evolutionary line which tries to be freed partially of the aquatic environment.
Their surface of current distribution limits to the central Africa and the valléee of the the Nile.
