Claas
The Groupe CLAAS is a German manufacturer of farm equipments who repurchased the French manufacturer Renault Agriculture. Its seat is located at Harsewinkel in Germany.
History
- 1913 - Creation of the company by August Claas with Clarholz in Germany
- 1914 - August and Franz Claas found the company Gebr. CLAAS
- 1919 - Transfer to Harsewinkel, manufacture of sheaf-binding machines of straw
- 1921 - First patent CLAAS for a nouor allowing to rationalize the tying of the straw
- 1930 - Beginning of the development of the first combine harvester
- 1953 - Launching of the first self-propelling combine harvesters
- 1956 - Creation of the factory of Paderborn in Germany
- 1962 - Starting of the production in the new factory of presses of Metz in France
- 1973 - Presentation of the first ensileuse railcar
- 1995 - Launching of new combine harvester LEXION (champion of world with 40 tons of cereals/hour)
- 1997 - Acquisition of a new factory with Törökszentmiklos in Hungary
- 2003 - While becoming majority shareholder of Renault Agriculture, CLAAS extends its pallet of products to the tractors
