Cléromancie

The cléromancie or Divination by the fates was a practice spread in the Antiquité which constistait to predict the future by the interpretation of stones, broad beans, wood dice or rods thrown on the ground or a table devoted (in Greek trapezomanteia ) or a source crowned ( pêgomanteia ) while being placed under the protection of a divinity, like, Athéna or Fortune.
