Civil protection

The term civil protection indicates the protection of the populations in times of peace and time of war. It is synonymous with “Civil security”.
The international distinctive sign of civil protection is: a blue equilateral triangle on orange bottom , (cf Additional protocol 1 of 1977 with the Geneva Conventions of 1949 articles 66 and 15 of appendix 1).

- the Head office of the Civil security is an head office of the federal Public service Intérieur.
; In France
- the term “civil protection” intervenes in the name of several organizations:
- * administrations: Regional interdepartmental service of the civil cases and economic of defense and of civil protection (SIRACEDPC) or interdepartmental Service of defense and of civil protection (SIDPC), services within the Prefecture S;
- * National union of civil protection (UNPC) which is oldest French association comprising the term “civil protection” in its name; affiliated with the OIPC (icdo.org).
- * associations of voluntary first-aid workers:
- ** National federation of civil protection (FNPC) gathering Departmental associations of civil protection (ADPC),
- * administrations: Regional interdepartmental service of the civil cases and economic of defense and of civil protection (SIRACEDPC) or interdepartmental Service of defense and of civil protection (SIDPC), services within the Prefecture S;
- Civil protection (PCi) is a body organized of 22 cantonal associations of which the goal is the assistance with the population in the event of detrimental events. It is about the one of the five pillars of the protection of the population, at the sides of the firemen, the police force, the engineering services and the sanitary services (ambulances, hospital etc). Civil protection gathers people who, for generally medical or physical reasons, are declared inapt for the military service, but are suited to the NCV all the same.
