Civil Public agency of research French

The research public Frenchwoman is primarily based on three types of public corporations:

the Public corporations in scientific, cultural and professional matter (EPCSCP). These are establishments whose research is only one of the missions, like the schools of engineers and the Universités.
the Public corporations in scientific and technological matter (EPST)

Research institute for the development (IRD, ex-ORSTOM)

Center of international cooperation in agronomic research for the development (CIRAD)

French Institute of research forexploitation of the sea (IFREMER)

Several organizations can join to form mixed units of research (UMR), like the majority of the laboratories of CNRS or the federative institutes of research (IFR), as for the INSERM.

Lastly, certain organizations of the type Public corporation related to administration are attached directly to the activity of research like the Cines for the provision of large means of calculation.

The civil society type is also some time used to launch a large joint project as it was the case for the Synchrotron_Soleil

Car-organization of the community

During the year 2004, the community of the French researchers engaged in a fight socio-policy with the government French, relating to its budget in particular and the number of employment at unlimited duration in French research.

Among other means of pressure, one of these most spectacular actions was the resignation in mass of their administrative duties of more than 976 directors of research units and 1110 foremen, on March 9th, 2004, made following a campaign coordinated partly by Internet, but formally decided at the end of a “discussion thorough” with the Town hall of Paris.

According to association “Let us save research”, all the “emergency” goals were obtained thereafter.

A longer-term goal, the organization of the “General states of research”, began during spring 2004.

The movement of the researchers with given place to the Law of program for the research, voted in 2006, which does not completely satisfy however the people engaged in these movements of claim.
