Civic education, legal and social
The Civic education, legal and social ( ECJS ), is a material taught in the French colleges. Comparable with the Civics the purpose of taught with the college of the 6ère to the 3ère, this teaching is “to form with the Citoyenneté” by approaching in the form of argued debates the principles and fundamental values (Droit, To be able, Liberté etc) of the life in company. One also discusses within this framework of important topical questions (Législation in France, Drogue, Road safety…) and of the laws installation.
This matter was created at the time of the Réforme of the state education French and put at the program in September 2001.
It is remote downward course of morals of the public school of IIIe République, substitute laic of the catechism exempted in catholic teaching.

The Irish schoolboys receive a teaching equivalent to the French ECJS, called civic education, social and political ( Civic, Social and Political Education, CSPE ).The United Kingdom
The British schoolboys receive an religious education ( religious education, RE ) obligatory, intended to allow the pupils to include/understand the diversity of the religious beliefs and morals. In Scotland, this matter is called " moral education and religieuse" (of the age from 5 to 14 years) then " religious studies, morals and philosophiques" (of the age from 14 to 18 years). The parents can refuse that their children follow this matter.
