Ciudad Rodrigo
Ciudad Rodrigo is a commune of Spain of the Province of Salamanque, autonomous community of Castille-and-León.
Located at a distance of 86 km of Salamanque, the provincial capital, and to 25 km of the border with the Portugal (sector of Guarda) by the west, it was the theater many confrontations at the beginning of the 19th century because of its strategic site.

According to the census of 2006 (N.S.I.), its population is 14.035 inhabitants, including 6.786 men and 7.249 women.
Environment
Ciudad Rodrigo is located on the Northern Plate, in the basin of the Águeda river. The agglomeration extends on 240,11 km ² and its wide territory includes/understands cultivated grounds, not irrigated grounds and mountainous areas, as well as typical pastures of the area.
