Ciudad Madero
Ciudad Madero (abbrégée with Cd.Madero or right Madero ) is a city of the State of Tamaulipas, with the Mexico. The city is located at the south-east of Tampico at the edge of the Río Pánuco, and belonged to the conurbation which includes/understands the towns of Tampico and of Altamira. Ciudad Madero was named in the honor of the Mexican president Francisco I. Madero. According to the census of INEGI of 2005 its population rose with 193.045 inhabitants.
Ciudad Madero has a named beach " Playa Miramar" , which, these last years, developed much its sector tourist with the construction of new hotels and restaurants. Close to the beach, one can see a headlight, the " Faro de Ciudad Madero" , with at its top a red light guiding the ships approaching in the channel of Rio Panuco.
The inhabitants of Tampico often consider that Ciudad Madero is only one district of their commune, which results in an exacerbation of the feeling of membership of the locality. Indeed, although the two cities are politically and administratively independent, it are physically connected and belong to a vast conurbation.
