Citadis Dualis

Citadis Dualis is a railway rolling stock of type Tram-train builds by Alstom, derived from the Citadis.

The order

At the conclusion of a Invitation to tender launched for the areas, the SNCF ordered the April 25th 2007 31 oars of this new material to satisfy the perish-urban needs intended for the area the Rhone-Alps (24 oars for the tram-train of the Lyons West) and for the Area Pays for the Loire (seven oars for the Nantes Tram-train - Chateaubriant).

In addition, 169 other oars are in option, for including 83 for the needs for the Île-de-France. It is envisaged by it 38 for the Tangentielle North, of which only 11 will be ordered for the startup of the first section of this project (Épinay-sur-Seine - Le Bourget).

The other oars in options are envisaged, in addition to the Ile-de-France (tangential Northern, Western and Southern) and the area Alsace (tram-train of Strasbourg).

Characteristics

Dualis is a 2,65 m of width and 42 m length electrical material, with a load with the axle of 11,5 T, a maximum speed of 100 km/h. It is capable of strong accelerations and can climb slopes of 65 mm/m.

Completely accessible to the people with reduced mobility or in wheel chair, it is equipped with a flat floor to 38 cm height, and can transport 250 travellers. It can circulate in double or triple units.

As for its urban counterpart Citadis, it is modular to adapt to specificities of each area and each service road: length, power supply (750 V continuous for the urban networks and, with the continuous or 25 Kv-50 Hz single-phase current or dual-mode choice, 1500 V with thermal engine), even gauge reduced to 2,40 Mr.
