Citadel the Tool bag
The Citadel the Tool bag , built by Henri Christophe with 900 meters of altitude, is the largest fortress of the the Caribbean.
It was built after independence in 1804 to defend the northern part of the island against a possible return of the French. 200.000 people took part in the building work which lasted fourteen years. These constructions were in parts destroyed by the earthquake of 1842. Rebuilding works allowed a certain repair of this wonder of the world.
The historical National park - Citadel, Without-Concern, Ramiers are classified with the world heritage of UNESCO.
