Cisticole de Carruthers

The Cisticole de Carruthers ( Cisticola carruthersi ), or Cisticole of the papyruses , is a bird of the family of the Cisticolidae. It is one of the qualified species of endemic of the papyrus.

Habitat

This bird lives in the marshes, lakes and African rivers bordered by papyruses.

Distribution and population

This species lives in Africa and can meet with the Burundi, in the Democratic republic of Congo, with the Kenya, the Rwanda, in Tanzania and Uganda.

The world population was estimated at approximately 370.000 individuals.

Statute and safeguarding

This species was classified by IUCN in category LLC (minor concern), because of its relatively important population.
