Cirrhitidae

The Cirrhitidae are one of Poisson S sailors of Perciformes which is represented by 12 S and 33 S.

These fish are commonly called “fish-sparrowhawks” or “fish-falcons” because of their technique of hunting consisting in remaining motionless in the reef and melting on their prey in an abrupt acceleration as soon as this one becomes accessible.

Aquariophilie

Several species, with the sharp colors, are sometimes proposed in the stores of aquariophilie, in particular:
  • Cirrhitichthys falco
  • Cirrhitichtys oxycephalus
  • Oxycirrhites typus
  • Paracirrhites arcatus

Hermaphrodism

It was noted that females can transform themselves into male as soon as dominating it dies.
