Cirkus

CirKus is a group of Trip-hop composed of Burt Ford , Karmil , Lolita Moon and Neneh Cherry .

History

The DJ and producing Matt Kent, better known under the pseudonym Karmil were recruited in 2005 by Cameron McVey (Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, Neneh Cherry…) as an assistant sound engineer. They started to work on their own material with the personal studio of Karmil to London. McVey was with the song and chooses a new pseudonym: Burt Ford. They asked the girl Neneh Cherry and McVey, and boyfriend of Karmil, Lolita Moon , to sing on certain songs. A little later the woman of McVey, Neneh Cherry, joined the team and added her voice to several songs. McVey and Karmil convainquirent Cherry to come in Sweden to move into the country house of McVey and Cherry near Malmö.

Their first demonstration left followed at the end of 2005 one year later the final album, entitled Laylow.

Instruments used on scene

Cameron plays on a Novation X-Station and a Kaoss Pad 2
Lolita plays on a Roland V-Synth (with its spectacular controller D-Beam, which enables him to control the sound with its hand), like on a Akai MPC.
Matt plays on an acoustic guitar Blueridge of form Dreadnought, color Sunburst

Trivia

Karmil lived exclusively in its room for a long time because he suffered from the chronic Syndrome of tiredness.
CirKus is a business of family since McVey and Cherry are married, that Lolita Moon (of its true name Tyson Cherry McVey) is their daughter, and that Karmil is the boyfriend of Lolita.
During the design of the album, all the members of the groups lived together in the house of McVey and Cherry with Malmö in Sweden.
Karmil declared that he wanted to flee of London to look after his dependence with the marijuana which he used in self medication.
