Ciriaco Sforza
Ciriaco Sforza is a former player of Football Suisse born the March 2nd 1970 with Wohlen (Argovie).
Career
After having begun its career in its city, it signs with FC Aarau in 1989. It impresses all the observers and is recruited by the large Swiss club of the Grasshopper Zurich one year later. It will play there during three seasons before migrating in Germany towards Kaiserslautern.
Sforza becomes the captain and the pillar of Kaiserslautern in the middle of the ground and is unanimously recognized like one of the best mediums of Bundesliga. After two seasons, it thus joined the largest club of the country, namely the Bayern Munich, the same year as the star main road Jürgen Klinsmann. Compared with the family club of Kaiserslautern, Bayern is a true made up multinational internationally recognized players, environment is hateful there, in particular because of the conflict between Jürgen Klinsmann and the captain Lothar Matthäus. Moreover, Bayern is called FC Hollywood for this reason and the Bavarian club fails in its conquest for the title for the second consecutive season. Sforza does not adapt to this environment and signs as of the next summer (1996) for the Inter Milan, pulled by the ex-selector of the Equipe of Switzerland, Roy Hodgson. This signature in Italy was supported by its origins.
But Switzerland is not very powerful and often finds itself on the bench. After only one season in Milan, it is again transferred and returns to Kaiserslautern for the season 1997-1998. It finds its more high level and in spite of its statute of promoted, Kaiserslautern takes down the championship of Germany in 1998. Sforza will remain two years more where it will impress everyone.
In 2000, it decides to try once again its chance on the side of the Bayern Munich. But it will be once again more present on the bench than on the ground, victim of wild competition. In 2002, it returns again in Kaiserslautern. Because of its wounds, it does not manage to save its club of relegation in 2006. It takes its retirement this year.
Since the summer 2006, Sforza is the trainer of the first team of FC Lucerne in Super League Switzerland (D1)
