The circumnavigation indicates the Navigation in Bateau around a place, usually a island, a Continent, or the whole Ground. More recently, one also speaks about circumnavigation for air or underwater voyages.

Navigation around the Earth

  • the first circumnavigation of the African continent took place about year 600 before Jesus-Christ, carried out by a forwarding phenician sent by the Pharaon Nékao II.
  • the circumnavigation of the American continent was not possible that starting from the {{XXe}}   century. CCGS Labrador was the first boat has to carry out this exploit in 1954.
